Fitbark review

Hey Furiends,

Hope you are doing great <3 I guess we should get straight to the point. I will try to be as honest as possible in this Fitbark review. So Ladies and Gentlemen without further delay let’s see what Fitbark is made of.

What is Fitbark?

Well, we could call it a sleep monitor and dog activity tracker with a GPS. Wow, that name was longer than I expected it to be.

So let’s check each of these features separately.

GPS, Activity tracker and sleep monitor

Actually, those are the most important features that I was looking for. There are quite a few options available on the market like Fi dogs or Whistle Go.

So the downside of Fitbark GPS is that if you are not within the USA then you won’t be able to use it as you need a mobile provider from the USA. Nevertheless, in case you really don’t care about it you can use it as an activity tracker.

Basically, it tracks your dog’s steps made during the day and reflects it on the app. The data is being reflected in real-time but you need to refresh it manually. So you will be able to see the traveled distance, calories burned, overall health, and behavior. Another cool thing is that you can set the daily goals for your doggo. Additionally, you can see how well your dog sleeps and this data is being saved. Therefore you will be able to monitor his health and see if something is wrong.

Let’s be honest if the Fitbark would be a huge brick no one would even bother buying it as your dog would look like a space cowboy. Honestly, I was surprised by the small size: 1.6 x 1.1 x 0.5 inches (41 x 28 x 13.5 mm). It’s super light: 0.35 ounces (10 grams) and quite decent operational temperature: -4°F to 122°F (-20°C to 50°C). Well if you live in Antarctica then just don’t buy. 😀 Almost forgot to mention that it is waterproof up to 1-meter depth (IP67).

Basically you can put Fitbark on any collar that is smaller than 1.5″ (38 mm).

What you need to know?

Well, the user interface (UI) for the application is quite okay but honestly, I’m not a big fan of it. I am more than positive they can easily update it in the future to make it more appealing and user friendly.

As any app first you need to register (You can use social media account). Afterward, you will need to create the profile for your doggo. Once you are in it will look like this:

Also, you can invite friends, chat with them, see your friend list activities. It’s like a Facebook for dog owners. Haven’t really used this feature but the idea is kinda nice.

Also, you will receive notifications from Fitbark if your daily goal is not going well or the opposite when you have reached it. They are also preparing weekly meetings like this one:

There are more features but those are not that interesting but nice to have at the same time.

Oh, by the way, battery life is up to 6 months. As I have it for 4 months now I still haven’t charged it so I would say it’s pretty accurate.

So how much does it cost, right? Well, when I bought the Fitbark 2 it was $69.95. As the prices are changing maybe it costs now more but go check out by yourself. But if you ask me it’s totally worth the price.
